Travel Diary NYC: Last Day in the Big City

    June 7, 2018

Time for the final photo post from my New York trip and that’s kind of sad. Hey, but the good news is that the video is coming soon! The last day of our trip was really only a half day because we had to fly out in the evening. It was still a great day though and definitely worth sharing. We returned to Brookfield Place one more time before going home and probably not for what you’d think. You see, there were so many amazing stores there, but what we went back for were cupcakes! Sprinkle’s Cupcakes to be exact. Mom wanted to take some of them back to the…

Travel Diary NYC: Italy in New York?

    June 6, 2018

I’m so glad to be sharing another piece of my trip to New York! So in this post I’m sharing some photos of one of our last days there. I started off the day by greeting the geese families near our hotel that I’d been seeing all week. Later my brother and I went out for some really great food before heading into the city. The first thing we wanted to do is see the famous spots around Wallstreet so we went there first. Omg, the golden bull was on our list but unfortunately it was a no go. As you can see in the following picture, it was literally…

    June 5, 2018

I’m so excited to tell you about yet another day of my New York trip. Sorry for how belated this by now but I still think some of this stuff is fun to share. We squeezed in a lot on this day of our trip, starting with a food festival held in the city streets. The 9th Avenue International Food Festival to be exact. I had a great time walking around and taking it all in. Of course, it was by far the most crowded food festival I’ve ever been to, but that’s New York for ya. There were so many unique options. Everything from gyros to fried oreos. I…

Travel Diary NYC: Visiting The Met

    June 4, 2018

Hey again! How was your weekend? I’ve been finishing up my photos from NYC to share. On the Saturday of our trip we went to The Met (aka: The Metropolitan Museum of Art ). Wow, it was incredible and I could say so many things about it, but mostly it was just beyond words. Before going there we stopped to get some food at Grand Central Station again and I got this really good Greek salad. You could spend so much time at this museum. I honestly only spent a fraction of my time in there reading the information plaques in front of each exhibit. If I’d tried to read…

Travel Diary NYC: Grand Central Station & Time Square

    June 1, 2018

Hey guys. So this post is honestly waaaay late in coming, sorry about that. After getting home from this trip everything has been such a whirlwind but, hey, I’m sharing it now. If you saw my last video you’ll have gotten a pretty good overview of my whole trip, but I still wanted to take some time to tell you more of the details of each day. Okay, time for lots photos. Already, since getting here just a day ago I feel like we’ve seen so much. My brother and I had the best time seeing all of the iconic spots and places. We arrived very late (NY time) and then…

    Travel Diary NYC – Video

    May 29, 2018

It’s been a crazy month so far, wow. I hope you had an amazing holiday weekend if you’re here in The States, or just an amazing weekend if not. We had some friends over for a grill-out and just chilled and enjoyed the surprisingly nice weather. I’ve been taking some time recently to step back and catch-up on life things so I hope you understand why it’s been a little quiet on the recipe side of things here on the blog. Not to mention I’ve been traveling quite a bit. Speaking of traveling, I was just in New York for an event for a site called DLive. I’ve never talked…

  • For some reason I find it so much less fun to post savory things during the month of December. Oh yeah, that's because all I want to do is share Christmas cookies! Of course that's not very practical so here's something savory.

So traditional Mexican tacos are always delicious, but if you're ever in the mood for some fusion these Asian inspired tacos are a fun way to change things up!

  • When it's the Christmas season and you're feeling real extra.... ❄️🍫🎄 Most of the time guys, I eat such basic meals. On the other hand, sometimes I like to be a little rebellious and mix a bunch of stuff together that might weird people out. 😝 Look, I'm not going to try to explain my strangeness when there's people paying good money to eat snails in France, bugs in Asia, and goodness knows what else. Relatively speaking I think this is pretty tame. 😂
In the bowl -> @naturespathorganic pumpkin waffle, @oatyeahoats yogurt, mixed berries, peanut butter, chocolate, cacoa nibs, pumpkin seeds, and a few bits of a @larabar. Told ya I was feeling extra.😉

  • It's official, the true cold weather has arrived and I'm not exactly thrilled about it. 🥶🥶🥶🥶 I keep thinking that if we had snow on the ground it would make it seem a little more worth it. Although, then I remember that I have to drive in it and I'm totally content to wait a few more days to get our inevitable blanket of white.
Basically, all I wanna do is snuggle up in a blanket and eat cozy comfort food while watching cheesy Hallmark movies. Oats have been a huge go-to. What's your favorite cold weather breakfast? 🥣☕🥞🥯🍠🥑🍎🍌 Btw, recipe for these PB banana oats on the blog
  • It's December my friends, crazy right? I'm still trying to figure out how the year can pass so quickly but I'm also so excited that the most wonderful month of the year is here.
The downtown area where I live just came alive with sparkling Christmas lights everywhere you look. Oh, and I think my neighbors are all trying to outdo each other on decorating their homes. It's very entertaining to say the least.

I know I've shared a lot of sweet stuff lately but it is the holidays. I'll be baking these this week because their a family favorite and a traditional treat I make every year.

  • I have to ask, can you think of anything that’s more fun than mini-sized foods, ’cause I’m having a hard time coming up with one right now? These are an absolute must-make you guys! The kids were flipping out over the fact that I made baby cinnamon rolls and they disappeared super fast. I think my brother’s are still investigating who took the last one. Since I think it was one of them they get kudos for faking innocence pretty well.

So you are going to try these right? You’ll be everyone’s bff if you do because these are a major crowd-pleaser!

  • In my opinion cookies are best right out of the oven every time. The problem with that is that the chewiest cookie recipes are far too soft to hold when they are warm.

The answer to this terrible life problem is to make your cookies deep dish in a big skillet or in a bunch of small ones. Then you have to top it all off with some ice cream and you have a dream dessert that is guaranteed satisfy even the most voracious sweet out there.

  • HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! It's here guys, how did that happen? I hope you're planning to spend the day with loved ones and not stressing the small stuff. If you're someone who obsesses over making everything perfect (I'm so very guilty of this), just remember, they probably won't remember how perfect the meal was. What everyone remembers is the time spent together and the joy of the season.
My favorite tradition from my childhood is watching Miracle on 34th Street while we start prepping things for the feast. Then we move on to the parade and talk about how it's never as good as it used to be when we were little. Although, I can't help but wonder if that's because I'm just getting older and the balloons don't hold the same appeal. 😜

This year I did most of the prep the day before so I could sit and enjoy my morning coffee because # adultingpriorities
What's your favorite tradition on Thanksgiving?
  • Can I just say that dealing with chestnuts is not exactly the most fun task in the world, which I’m sure any of you who’ve done it would agree with me.

They’re just sort of high maintenance compared to what you get from them. However, I really like using them and I’ve gotta say I’ve dealt with much worse ingredients in my food blogging past so it’s not too bad to mess with them a few times a year. Plus, you all know how much I love to get into themes and stuff, and come on, chestnuts and Christmastime go together like pb&j! Am I right? Am I right???? Okay, but aside from the chestnuts, this soup is a breeze to make and it has so many of the flavors that I love about the holiday season. I really wanted to get the chestnut flavor in there so I added quite a bit.
