Whole Grain Pitas with Lentil Hummus Dip (Vegan)
Rejoice! For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord…….and then there’s hummus…….. Yesterday I told you guys how I was going to make this my Christmas movie inspired food week. For my second recipe I thought I’d go back a little further than the 40’s. Let’s ask ourselves WWJE (what would Jesus eat)? Today I’m sharing a recipe inspired by the Nativity Story and, okay, obviously it’s not just a movie but THE story of Christmas, the entire reason for the season. There just happens to also be a movie too so I can throw this into my line up for the week.…

Sourdough Pumpkin Pretzel Parker House Rolls
Today is officially the one week countdown to Turkey day for all of my wonderful readers from the States. That makes up over half of you and as a food blogger that means you’re all searching out the perfect new recipes to bring to the table, definitely something I can’t forget about. I’m switching to full on Christmas gear this weekend you guys. If you follow me on Pinterest (not that I’m ordering you around, but you should because it’s the only social media platform that I actually feel like I can use properly) then you’ve probably noticed that I’m getting really excited by all of my Christmas pinnnage! And speaking of Christmas, I…

Steakhouse Style Brown Bread (Vegan)
Admit it, you’ve wanted to eat an entire loaf of this stuff before in one evening… No? Maybe it’s just me then. Come on, it’s hard to resist when you’re waiting for a meal, it’s taking forever because they’re crowded, and they keep bringing hot loaves to the table. It was just so good! In my experience hot, fresh bread makes people pretty happy too. I’ve wanted to recreate this kind of bread for a long time. It just as easy as any other bread and surprisingly it gets some of it’s dark color from cocoa powder. I know that sound very interesting and maybe even weird, but you don’t taste it other…

Caramel Pear Swirled Streusel Babka
My internet is down at the present moment and so I’m writing this out the old fashioned with pen and paper. I’ll type it out later to post (which, if you’re reading it now I have obviously done already). As I’m writing it though, I’m realizing that I need to write like this more often because I much prefer it to typing. Mostly that’s because I’m a terrible typer, but also because it feels so much more personal. It’s like the difference between talking to someone in person versus by email or text. It’s real and tangible, I love that. I know I’ll sound like a broken record here, because I’ve already told you…

Mozzarella Stuffed Pesto Pizza Monkey Bread (Vegan)
I’m not really sure why they call this type of bread a monkey bread. I suggested that maybe it’s because when everyone is picking at the delicious pieces it resembles the way primates groom each other and eat their findings. I was dumb enough to mention this while my brothers were around so, of course, they gave me their opinions and since my idea was already borderline gross they had to outdo it. One of them said that it’s because it looks like a giant monkey brain like on Indiana Jones and I won’t mention what the other one said. Thank you boys, that’s just the mental picture that will make everyone want…

Roasted Strawberry, Basil, & Cream Crostini (Vegan)
So I have a really easy party snack for you guys today. You game? These are crostini, which is actually the plural form of crostino. I know, this confuses a lot of people. It’s like how the plural of cul-de-sac is actually culs-de-sac. That one never made since to me when I was younger either. Those sneaky Europeans! I’m convinced they say everything backwards just to confuse the Americans. Have I mentioned that I’ve been making way more snacky appetizer type foods than usual lately? I can’t remember. Hey, it’s hard to keep track of these little datails when you have ten billion other things on your mind. I’m not going crazy, my brain is…

Vegan Sourdough Hard Pretzels & Honey Mustard Dip
Snacktime just got a whole lot more delicious with this Vegan Sourdough Hard Pretzel Recipe. These are a fun and unique treat to make for the family. Bring these to a dinner party and be the star of the night. You know what I’ve decided is stupid? Well, there is actually a whole list of things that I could answer with here, but currently on my mind is the fact that it takes me like ten times as long to write something as it does to read it. No, like twenty times. Why does it take me so long and is it that way for everyone? This post is all about Vegan…
