Cocoa+Oat Protein Waffles (Vegan+GF) – Sincerely Tori
So I know there are a lot of things in life right now that can’t be fixed with simple answers but I feel like waffles are the answer to a lot of problems. As always I’m going to my happy place and drowning worries in delicious things like these waffles. Okay, not really but waffles are always a good decision.😍😋 Speaking of decisions, I recently made one of the best purchases of my entire life……..a miniature waffle maker!!! When I say mini, I’m talking like 4 inch waffles. Omg, they’re SOOOO cute!!!! Yeah, definitely the best buying decision ever. ;P I shared them on my socials a while ago but now I’m sharing the recipe. It’s such a basic recipe and you don’t even have to make waffles out of it. It can just as easily be pancakes. Also, if you’re making waffles note that this recipe will make more or less depending on the size of your iron. I topped mine with all the blueberries, some cacao nibs, some vanilla oat yogurt mixed with spirulina, and some hemp hearts. They’re not the most chocolately waffles ever but I felt like the balance was just perfect. With cacao having that natural bitter bite to it I didn’t want to go darker and have to compensate with sweetness. Feel free to add more cacao though, especially if you like to add a lot of syrup on top. The toppings are obviously up to you. I know I love nut butters on my waffles too!!! Sometimes the simple things are the best and these waffles are the perfect example. Lightly chocolate and great for an easy breakfast!
