PB&J Granola Parfaits (Vegan+GF)
Tell me if you can relate to this. I love to cook for people and I love to make huge, elaborate meals for big groups and I’ll spend hours in the kitchen. When I’m cooking for just me though, I’m not even willing to get a bowl out of the cabinet to put food in sometimes. I’ll literally just eat random stuff out of a box or grab something that requires zero prep. My roomies make fun of me and say I eat like a savage sometimes and they’re not wrong. Haha, I think years of food blogging has ruined my civilized kitchen habits. But again, the moment I have someone to cook…

Fudgy Peanut Butter Vegan Protein Brownies
Who says you can’t have dessert with benefits? These vegan protein brownies are decadent for sure but they’re also made with some extra health. Enjoy these for dessert, afternoon snack, or even an indulgent breakfast. One of the absolute best questions to ask someone who eats plant-based/vegan is where they get their protein. I’m being a little sarcastic here but I also have some pretty smartass answers to this question that are pretty fun to deliver on the right occasion. My favorite; “I get my protein the same place your protein gets its protein and skip the middle-man.” This post is all about vegan protein brownies Hey, for the most part I avoid…

Deep Dish Chocolate Chip Cookies (Vegan+GF)
So um, If I ever stop coming up with variations of a chocolate chip cookie you’ll know my body’s been inhabited by aliens or something. Hey, I can’t help it, there’re just so many ways you can recreate this classic treat. That, and I really just love taking photos of them. What can I say? They’re very aesthetic. Okay why would you do a deep dish cookie you might be wondering? Seriously though, is anyone actually wondering that? Hello melty pools of chocolate that can acceptably be eaten with a spoon, double the thick and chewy texture and gooey center, and then there’s always the option to throw some ice cream on top!…

Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Candy Bars (Vegan+GF)
One of my favorite quotes, and the most applicable to my life, is “Necessity is the mother of invention” – Plato I’ve lived in some pretty remote areas where ingredients weren’t available like they are in a city or large town like I live in now. In other words, I had to come up with substitute ingredients for almost everything I wanted to make. While it wasn’t always fun or easy, it definitely expanded my thinking and led me to come up with some great ideas. One of the better ones being these bars. I remembered them recently while talking with family. That’s when I realized that they had to be something I…

Blackberry Activated Charcoal Smoothie Bowl (Vegan+GF)
I’m back from Hawaii but I’m still craving all the fruit. So charcoal in a smoothie, health benefit or aesthetic benefit? Let’s be real, it’s both. Ever since I started taking food photos I’ve definitely loved jumping on any visually captivating health trends. It’s not just for looks though. Charcoal has a lot of reasons to be consumed aside from it’s striking color. I remember my mom using it when my youngest sister was born because it’s great for helping relieve gas in infants. Another benefit, it’s great at filtering toxins. Have you ever used one of those nifty water-filtering pitchers, yeah well those have charcoal in them. It has a similar effect…

Plant-Powered Oat Protein Bars (Vegan+GF)
Okay, tell me if you do this too…. You’re walking down the protein bar aisle slightly holding your breath because you’re so hoping that the one or two brands that aren’t complete trash happen to be on sale. Then you check the price and realize that even if they were on sale they’re still a little pricey for you to be buying on a regular basis. Then you console yourself by realizing that unless you’re traveling or extremely short on time they really aren’t the best option. Am I the only one? Maybe it’s just me. I do know that there are some really delicious options for making protein packed bars to eat…

Cookie Dough Rawnola (Vegan+GF)
Wow, January is over already? That was so fast! I have a feeling the rest of the year isn’t going to be any slower, but I’m kind of wishing there was a pause button. You know, so we could get our lives together a little bit. I don’t know, maybe that’s part of the beauty of life, that none of us know what we’re doing. What I do know is that 2020 has plenty of space for all the healthy treats. This being one of my favorites lately. Now before I tell you about the recipe maybe some disclaimers are in order. Again, this is 2020 and things aren’t the same as they…
