Chewy Almond Flour Fudge Brownies (Vegan+GF)
Okay, wow I feel like we need some major recap time guys. It’s been forever since we had a chat and even longer since that chatting involved chocolate. I know, no chocolate? The world might as well have ended, right? So I mentioned being sick in one of my recent posts and that was very true but what I didn’t realize at the time of writing that post, was that I would end up getting sicker the next day and what’s more, end up feeling really-not-great for over one full week! Even as I’m writing this I’m fighting not to be distracted by some of the annoying leftover symptoms that just won’t seem…

Chocolate Tahini Smoothie
So It’s the weekend and I know we’ve all got life going on all around us so I’m keeping it short and sweet today. I’m just popping in to share this smoothie recipe that I made this past week because it’s one any smoothie lover is going to be thrilled with. That is, of course, unless you’re one of those fruity smoothie people who think chocolate should be strictly in desserts. You’re not, right??? This smoothie is simple, fast, and only a few ingredients. It’s also gluten free, dairy free, and vegan, and you can adapt it very easily too. For example, peanut butter is a great sub for the tahini and if…

Golden Vanilla Cake + Chocolate Buttercream Frosting (Vegan)
Firstly, someone drank my entire cup of coffee, like what???? Secondly, please do not ask me who’s birthday it is/was. Seriously, you’d think my family would have figured out by now that I sometimes get the random urge to make an unnecessarily large, lovely, and delicious cake for absolutely no good reason at all. Yes, well apparently they haven’t because I think I got asked why I was making this cake about two dozen times by various people the day that I was working on it. So I actually did have a good reason to make it though, I felt it was a huge gap missing from my recipe list. I realized the other day that…

Chunky Chili Stuffed Sweet Potatoes (Vegan+GF)
I have an exciting recipe to share with you today guys. I mean, I know it’s pretty classic but personally I tend to go through food moods or get into dinner ruts sometimes and I forget about old favorite dinner recipes from the past. That’s why I thought I’d share this anyway. Before I get into that; some totally random things about me recently. I rarely have super vivid dreams these days but if I do it’s only when I wake up ridiculously early and then manage to go back to sleep (which that is something I usually can’t do). Anyway, I had this really strange morning dream yesterday where a zombie apocalypse was taking…

Brownie Filled Chocolate Chip Cookie Meringue Tart
I’m saying hey from the past to some my favorite people on planet earth! That’s you, my awesome readers! I hope you’re having a good Friday. Actually I wish it was Friday right now, but unfortunately…..it’s not. So obviously life gets crazy pretty often and as a blogger you can’t always leave things to chance or rely on the hope that somehow you’ll just have enough time to get everything done. That’s why it’s usually a good practice to be on top of things by having a little backlog of future posts as a buffer in case of emergencies. On the flip side, you can’t really write too far ahead without seeming detached and…

Chocolate “Nutella” Orange Cream Cake (Vegan)
Have you noticed that I seem to rotate back and forth between savory and sweet moods. I realized this week that it had unintentionally become the norm for me to lean towards sweets more often than not. At least, that’s how it was for a while and it was especially that way during the Holidays. Then for some reason I’ve been in more of a savory mood so far this year. It’s probably all the talk about a fresh new year and starting out healthy. I don’t know. Whatever the case, I’ve definitely had an easier time coming up with ideas for salty snacks and fun new dinners than I’ve had dreaming up new treats…

Chunky Monkey Caramelized Banana Split Sundaes (Vegan+GF)
I’ve never made banana splits before you guys, isn’t that ridiculous? We were watching a movie recently and, I don’t even remember which one it was now, but there was a scene in an old-fashioned diner. You know, classic Americana, 1950’s, juke boxes, poodle skirts…. you get the picture. In the scene they brought out this big and beautiful banana split and none of us could help wanting to dive into the screen at that point. I realized immediately that a banana split was lacking in my repertoire of recipes and I knew that I had to fix this major problem as soon as possible. I didn’t want to make just any banana splits…
