Holiday Cookie Week #3: Chewy Ginger Molasses Cookies (Vegan)
And we have more cookies…… I hope you guys aren’t minding the back to back sweets, but it is December and there are just so many cookies to be baked. I promise to post some healthier stuff come January (or possibly sooner). Maybe we’ll all go on a juice cleanse!…….Only, I just remembered, chocolate. Yeah, we’ll have like a salad and call it good. Okay, for the third cookie recipe this week I made another classic family fave. These are the like lovechild of a perfectly baked (chocolateless) chocolate chip cookie and a gingerbread man. You’ve maybe tried them before or something similar. If you haven’t though, you must. I’m telling you, so…

Holiday Cookie Week #2: Romance Cookie Bars (Pecan Pie Bars)
I actually enjoyed my Monday this week. Does that make me a total weirdo? It was mostly because I had a jam-packed weekend with back to back company on top of some blog planning and recipe testing so I was in the kitchen even more than usual. We’re talking sun up to sun down, and the days are at their longest here so that’s a long time. It’s not that there aren’t plenty of people around to help with things, there are, but you know what they say about too many cooks and soup. I need to get better at it, but I don’t always work cohesively with others #ControlFreak. Well, it’s that,…

Holiday Cookie Week #1: Snowy Butterball Cookies
So last week I did gift ideas, but this week it’s cookie time peoples! Which conveniently, cookies also make wonderful gifts too so it’s basically a win win situation all the way around. I’m starting off with one of the classics. These devious little puffs of deliciousness operate under multiple aliases but my crazy clan has always called them butterballs. You may know them as snowballs, Mexican wedding cookies, Russian tea cakes, or Italian wedding cookies, but me, I can’t seem to call them anything else. To me they’ll always be butterballs. Okay, obviously everybody and their great-aunt Ruth has a recipe for these cookies but I just really felt like I should have…

Edible Gifting Week #5: DIY Vegan Hot Cocoa Mix 4 Ways
I’m ending my series of edible holiday gifting ideas with #5, hot cocoa mixes! A cup of hot Cocoa is like the quintessential holiday drink. It’s an icon that everyone can associate with Christmas. Come on, who doesn’t love a hot cup of cocoa to sip on during the cold winter season? I’m going to assume that you all just did a little cocoa dance, or at the very least are silently cheering with me for the wonderful creation that is sweet and cozy hot cocoa. Now, if you just mentally responded to the negative, then you’d better go find someone else’s parade to rain on because cocoa and I are really having a…

Edible Gifting Week #1: Chocolate Dipped Salted Caramels (Vegan)
Okay so you guys may or may not have noticed that I have a thing for themes. Well, that said, I thought this year it would be fun to do a different theme for each week in December. This week I’m posting edible gift ideas that will hopefully inspire your giving spirit for the season and get your wheels spinning. That’s one of my favorite parts of blogging, the thought of being able to share creativity with you guys and hope it sparks your inspiration! Okay, I’ve gotta know, it’s the week after Thanksgiving and the last day before we start the 25 day till Christmas countdown, who’s got their trees up? We put…

Pecan Streusel Sweet Potato Spice Muffins
I’m kind of freaking out again…. It’s just, I woke up and realized we’re about to start the last month of the year and I’m caught in the storm of emotions that I think is familiar to most of you. I’m really excited (you don’t even know) about the holiday festivities but also a little tiny bit sad that time is speeding by so fast. Maybe that sounds crazy, but hopefully you can understand. Anyway, it’s my nephew’s first Christmas. I think I already mentioned recently but that’s a huge part of why I really want this holiday season to be special for my sister (for my nephew too, but he won’t be…

Butterbeer Ice Cream Floats with Coconut Caramel Ice Cream (Vegan+GF)
Okay, you got me. Yep, I’m a Potter fan. Once upon a time, I enjoyed reading books. Of course, that was when I had tons of free time. These days, the thought of sitting down to a good book for hours and hours is a dim fantasy, and yet somehow it’s not as appealing as it used to be. I don’t think I could concentrate that long anymore, but there was a time when I could, and one of my favoreites was the Harry Potter series. What is it about that those books that’s so captivating when your young? I loved the way Rowling connected everything at the end and how she kept the…
